Array ( [sid] => 33070 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Despair Betrothed [time] => 2004-01-29 05:16:46 [hometext] => A collaboration of two souls, each tired of the bitter aftertaste left behind by broken promises. [bodytext] =>
Words are given and gifts are sworn
Until we die, and from the moment we're born
Pledges are made and fingers crossed
Dreams and desires are grasped, then lost

Pain is delivered to remind us we're alive
Though sometimes doesn't care if we survive
Promises shattered to reveal the harsh reality
Of our so often forgotten human morality

Buried in lies until we are dust
To leave this world without knowing trust
You raise our hopes and make us believe
Then with a dagger, our hearts you cleave

Killed by the dagger of ataxia and treason
By a ludicrous act taken without reason
On betrayal's river against volition we sailed
Merely because you turned and failed

So there we lay, disillusioned in a garnet sea
The wound you left bleeds sincerity
Our hearts and tears, they never mattered
Another will, another vow, unremembered and shattered

When you glance back once remember not to
For we are back for vengeance, our hearts made new
Fettered no more, away from our harness
We seek you out to remind you of your broken promise

So the walls were torn asunder, ten times rebuilt now cast in steel
The play rewritten once again, the middle of fortune's wheel [comments] => 3 [counter] => 191 [topic] => 13 [informant] => Disillusioned_Gemini [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 15 [ratings] => 3 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => DarkPoetry )

Wow. That was very good. I like the style. It seems very familiar. Nicely written. It was awesome.
