done by unloving hands,
hands that have never held someone,
and said they understand,

Gifts wrapped up in greed,
suffocating and bound with tape,
demanding everything in return,
a twisted kindness i cant escape,

and they invite all of thier family,
pretend everythings okay,
but then complain about how stuck up they are,
at the end of the day,

and i try to give and give,
but they wont accept my bleeding hands,
and the tattered emotions i hold,
they dont reach thier demands,

because my smile isnt fake,
and i dont dress my best,
and the music that i play,
isnt all jolly like the rest,

and they continue to be fake,
well i dont give a damn,
im not going to change for one stupid day,
i wont change who i am. [comments] => 2 [counter] => 277 [topic] => 18 [informant] => Chanti [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 2 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => Holiday Poetry )

The best gift you can ever give is your words. Good write! You touch on the true meaning of x-mas, it's not what you get or what you give. It is all about who you are the rest of the time. Stay true to yourself
