we kept throwing the dice
while we sought oblivion
in the bottom of a glass
pushing each other down
vying for position
wanting what had been neglected
taking what we could
before it was all gone
faint memory of promises
broken so long ago
not worth mentioning anymore
drunken adversaries
blurry - out of focus
a bad photograph
taken as we parted company

Your writes are so damn true to life. No wonder I drink so much. Once again I am left thinking, always thinking.

For that you owe me a drink

Dear Mer, I need your big chair, so I can sit in it and think awhile. Your wonderful poems have me reeling, and sometimes stealing...just a glimpse here and there of you....I love your poems Mer, everything you write about comes in loud and clear.
I'm not sure about this one, however, hope everything is all right with you, 'cause I love you too!
