I still see you and in my reflection when I step out of the shower
And in my doorway when I wake up
At first glance I see you shotgun in my car in the corner of my eye
And in my backyard on the dock feeding the ducks
I still see you in my mom's bathroom when I'm home alone
Towell drying your hair

You were a song I loved but never knew the words to
I loved who I thought you were
And who you used to be
I hate it when people say nothing is pefect
That's a lie
Everything just changes meaning nothing is forever
You might sleep once in a while but you still never dream
You might laugh but you still never smile
Come on in waste away and stay awhile
Would you give me another chance if
I forgot all the pain you caused me and you got a new *****
Just remember the way I cuped your head with my hands
And the way I combed them through your hair
Against grain was the gain
My stomach swears there's still comfort
In the warmth of the blankets on your bed
My stomach's always been a liar
I was the only one who was always there
Because my stomach always made me come back
I know you miss the songs I would sing and the way I danced
After my love for you is gone at least I can still say I love myself
Look at what you've done and what you're still doing
I still can't believe it's too late to hold you now
And still too soon to hold your picture [comments] => 2 [counter] => 163 [topic] => 22 [informant] => zaowhvn [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => LostLove )

I recently broke up with my girlfriend of 9 months only about a month ago and I'm still reeling over it. This poem expresses so much of what I have felt and thought. You see the person everywhere, and only wish that they were there with you...

Great write!
