Did the US want Iran to co-operate?
Or is it just a tactical move?
Did Saddam go underground
With a winnable war in view?
In power politics and world affairs
It can be hard to tell
But when one side act like bears
Intelligence goes to hell

I know that sheer power can do a lot
But remember old Kung Fu
“Use their strength against them”
Is the smarter thing to do

If you go bull-headed into the ring
And simply use sheer force
Your enemy will take a look
And stick your rear of course

And alienating friends, what’s that about?
Is that really clever?
Or don’t you simply delay success
Perhaps even forever?

If Bush and Co had any sense
They would bring all sides together
Not simply use fear and threats
In every kind of weather

They look like bears and brainless drones
Take Rumsfeld for one
Is this the kind of smarts we need
Behind the barrel of a gun?

And Bush...?
Well, it’s pretty clear
Is it truly not?
That such a sad dumb hick
Belongs back in his cot?

Perhaps the best we can hope
Is the world is of stronger stuff
That it will just stagger on
And eventually shrug them off

No political creed lasts forever
They sow the seeds of their own demise
And what’s left of their reputation
Will be for history to despise [comments] => 1 [counter] => 180 [topic] => 41 [informant] => Steeleyes [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => political )
