Array ( [sid] => 2662 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => The Roads We Choose [time] => 2002-08-23 17:50:49 [hometext] => I wasn't sure if I should put this one under "Lost Love Poetry" or "Life Poetry", but they're basically the same thing as far as I'm concerned, so whatever. Hope you like! [bodytext] => For every choice and every decision
We find ourselves at a fork in the road.
We do our best to pick a path,
Not knowing where it will go.

Each road we decide to take
Leads to another choice.
Just as we’ve done before
We listen to our inner voice.

We hope that voice is smart enough
To show us the right direction.
But if that voice had steered us wrong,
Would it be too late to make a correction?

What do you do when you take a path
Then realize you chose wrong?
Is it possible to turn and go back,
Or must you follow that road along?

I have this feeling the journey back,
Would be easier than the one there.
Unless of course, revisiting your past,
Would be too much for you to bare.

I ask these questions for someone I love,
Has chosen the wrong road.
And quite possibly, I did too,
When I decided to let her go.

Now our roads lead away from each other.
I fear for us where they head.
Will our paths ever meet again,
On this journey called life we tread?

How would I know if she was unhappy
With the path that she now walked?
Our roads have led us so far away,
And it’s been some time since we talked.

If she could somehow reach me,
And tell me she’s changed her mind,
I’d take a deep breath, retrace my steps
And where our paths had split, it’s me she’d find.

If she met me there again,
We’d choose our roads together.
Right or wrong would no longer matter,
For we’d be side by side forever

The Roads We Choose

For every choice and every decision

The love you have for that person seems to be so strong even now that you have chosen different paths....in each of your writes you can feel the emotions...it's like we are experiencing this with you...thank you for sharing with us....and it's never to late to turn back....(just my opinion)..

Pretty sad stuff you write Mister Right. As sad as it may be, it would seem that the path of your life is headed in a different direction than hers. Release your grief and continue on your path with hope. Love will never find you if you do not open your heart, for love is a gift that we give to ourself, no other person can do that for us. If we allow yourselves to get lost in another person, then we have nothing left when they go. Your poems are all well written. Thank you for posting your feelings for all of us to read.
Take care,
Sherry

The Paths we take are the ones we choose, some say its our destiny, but whatever destiny is we are the ones that make the decision! Great write, I can relate to it alot!
