we are as one, yet alone
in a kingdom of dead-eyed apes
any fool can sit on the throne
in a life so pointless
a bullet doesn't seem so bad
in a world so ***** cold
the razor's edge
is the sweetest kiss i've ever had

in a world where everyone shouts
but doesn't say a thing
i'd rather sit in the corner
and save my voice to scream in pain
in a world where nothing makes sense
cryptic words will suffice to allude
in a world where "prophet" means "profit"
it's obvious, we're screwed

barefoot we stroll through the Garden of Sodom
numbed to all atrocity
mechanical zombies, no purpose in life
just feed the Machine and question nothing
yes, at the edge of our tomorrow
Hope's easy stride finally faltered
the irony is plain to see

"the razor's edge is the sweetest kiss i've ever had" ...this is a great (but sad) metaphor... nice choice of words
"In a world where everyone shouts, but doesn't say a thing" So true, so true....
I have to admit ~ as tormented, sad, and sick as your poetry is ~ I do admire your talent. :)
