And become placid within
Cause I realized if I was angry at nothing
A calm epoch I could begin

I traveled to a meadow, relaxing and linear
A place that was narrow, above glanced a meteor
I sat in a cushion of grass, and unlocked my mind
I reflected upon my past, that dreaded passage of time
Everything flowed out, one by one
As new life sprouted, underneath the sun
I felt an inner peace, something unknown
All my demons released, I was alone
My spirit soared increasingly, I was blissing
I saw the end perceptively, my epiphany
With a shotgun BLAST and a supersonic BOOM
I was cleansed at last and my soul bloomed

I felt a cut from so far away
I didn't care, I was no longer grey
The green blades below, sliced into my skin
They started to grow, and journeyed within
My legs screamed of an unbearable burn
But I was numb, and I didn't care to learn
My eyes ripened green from the the chlorophyl
I could no longer see or even feel
As my carnal body evolved to a tree
The greatest there was, the new found me

For years I stood, rooted deep in the earth
The winter my bed, the summer my hearth
Nothing could strip me of my evergreen beauty
I always had prominent victory
A gentle giant in the midst of a plain
I was a plant, I had no shame
I was devoid of emotions, nothing was upsetting
Even the few times, the white lightning struck near me
If I was still human, I would have thought I was alone
I would have cried shivers through my bones
But I had reached nirvana, the highest level
This was my cure, how I was freed of my devils

Then one day, there was a price to my life
A cold man came with his jagged knife
The man was no threat in all of his grime
It was the tool, spinning through time
I should have feared it, yet I felt nothing
I knew when it cut, it would take everything
It steadily penetrated, splitting the bark
It took all day, and soon it grew dark
And at last, when my great weight fell
I felt the wind, and pain as well
I knew I had transcended
Even before my body descended
And the man strolled away with my crutches

So now here I lay, limbless and bleeding
My last grasp of consciousness fleeting
Though I will die, I can see
And the ultimate pain is surging through me
My past has returned, now clearer than ever
The thing from which I had run forever
The vultures will come, and my corpse will be defiled
And the only thing I want to do now...
Is smile

That's one of the most unconventional poems I've read in a while. Strange, but unique and definitely worth reading.
