[hometext] => certainly not my greatest work....
[bodytext] => It happened upon one ancient day That two armies, massed in great array Met upon a peaceful field With readied sword and readied shield One banner red; a crimson hue The other a vivid, dark sea-blue A noble prince, the Crimson Lord Faced off against the rebel horde All was silent, each soldier’s gaze Fixed on the enemy through the morning haze Till a prince behind the standard red Raised his long-sword above his head The time was ripe the young prince felt And his men, observing the signal knelt Upon the ground, to give 600 archers behind A clear view of the enemy battle line And the archers gripped their longbows by their hafts And let loose a rain of deadly shafts And in the ranks of dark sea-blue The arrows fell with aim so true That their ranks faltered and staggered back As a second hail of arrows black Streaked towards them all around And mowed the entire first line down The Crimson Prince sheathed his sword And stared down upon the rebel horde And the archers, as the signal said they should Retreated back as the others stood The Rebel Leader looked about Raised his spear and gave a shout His ranks parted, a trumpet blared Out stepped 200, with crossbows prepared The Crimson Lord, at first aghast Thought “a mere 200!” and began to laugh The crossbowmen, not amused Fired their arrows into the sky of blue And the Crimson Lords laughter at first decreased Until a moment later it finally ceased As the bolts came down from the sky And 200 of his own men died.
