[hometext] => A poem about eating alone.
[bodytext] => There’s nothing sadder in the world Than the sight of a man Eating all by himself. For the life of me, I don’t Understand this mess He must wish he were somebody else. Why so bored and lonely, Sir? Why are all by yourself? Why’re your eyes glazed over and white And your world washed away in the shadows and light? Would you like to come eat with my friends? I’m sorry, dear Sir, but what did you say? My mind was asleep while my eyes were away And I couldn’t quite catch all the words that you spun. Dear Sir, please do tell me the time on your hand. ‘Tis quarter to three hours since the sun peaked In the lovely blue sky up above, And I’d really prefer, and you’ll like this, I’m sure, That you spent your day out in the grass, with us, And your soul will be filled to the brim with joy And your life with be better by far. In the world of my dreams, the sun does not shine, But is still like an oil-based paint. The trees are all rubber, the dirt, Oreo, Where tires and kittens are seashells and cloth And villains and scumbags have just wills and not This false sense of justice that comes with your sun. My dreamland sounds better, so let me dream on. I see that you’re fine, Sir, forgive my rude words, And please dream of water and chocolate birds, And thank you for showing the river you swim To be swept away on your simplest whim To the land where the horses and dolphins all play. With thanks, I depart, and wish you a nice day.
