her Daddy gave her Mom,
a bright red rose he picked for her
out by the garden gate.
He knew he couldn't stay too long,
for his ship was sailing soon.
He was a man of little words,
but he wrote a simple note.

It said;
Take care of our little girl
with bright blue shinning eyes.
I pray you both will be okay
as I look up to the sky.
I can hardly wait until
I'm right there by your side.
Till then, know that I love you so,
and then he cried.

On the day that she was wed
her Daddy gave to her,
a bright red rose he picked for her
out by the garden gate.
She put it into her bouquet,
and he walked her down the isle.
He gave the Groom a simple note
they read as they drove away.

It said;
Take care of our little girl
with bright blue shinning eyes.
I pray you both will be okay
as I look up to the sky.
I can hardly wait until
your back here by my side.
Till then, know that I love you so,
and then they cried.

On the day she had a son
her daddy gave to her
a bright red rose he picked for her
out by the garden gate.
A years gone by and he wonders
why God took her that night.
As he placed a rose on her tombstone
he found a simple note.

It said;
I'll take care of your little girl
with bright blue shinning eyes.
I pray you both will be okay
as I look down from the sky.
I can hardly wait until
your right here by my side.
Till then, know that I love you so,
and then God cried. [comments] => 5 [counter] => 426 [topic] => 34 [informant] => ThornMEngla [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => SongLyrics )

OMG! This is just as powerful as "Mommy is it Far?". Maybe more. But it is simply beautiful. Sad, and yet so very loving. Another AMAZING piece. please keep up the good work.
