Array ( [sid] => 20541 [catid] => 1 [aid] => Mick [title] => Child, Forever Unborn [time] => 2003-07-16 21:45:00 [hometext] => I wrote this poem about a year ago for a close friend of mine. I never gave it to her, nor did I post it, because I'm not sure how she would react (I didn't know if it would make her more upset). Anyway, I don't think she visits this site any longer, so I decided I'd post it. Let me know what you think. [bodytext] => My heart goes out to you, with this hurt you bare
She was not in a position to start a family
I can’t know what you feel, but I’ll always be there
Faced with a decision she could not foresee
Always remember, for you, someone cares
Left with a place in her soul, forever empty
I agree with your decision, this I swear
This cross she will bare for eternity

This is a tale of a child unborn
Given no name, no funeral to morn
From the womb of its mother, innocence was torn
A child left forever unborn

No one can know the heart ache she feels
Boy or girl no one knows
A wound eternity could never heal
No chance for life, no chance to grow
A secret she won’t allow herself to reveal
On the face of its mother, memory shows
Alone with this regret she’ll learn to deal
Such pain she bares, few hear her woes

This is a tale of a child unborn
Given no name, no funeral to morn
From the womb of its mother, innocence was torn
A child left forever unborn

When passion runs high, chances we take
Many may not agree with her choice
Or birth control fails or condoms break
Unless you’ve had to make it, you have no voice
Two it takes, to make this mistake
Ruin one life or two and that was the choice
But it’s the woman who’s left forever in ache
In ignorance of this, you may all rejoice

This is a tale of a child unborn
Given no name, no funeral to morn
From the womb of its mother, innocence was torn
A child left forever unborn

You may say the father feels the hurt too
She’ll always remember her child unborn
He’ll never know what she goes through
Angered by her choice some people scorn
He’ll move past it and life will ensue
The key is abstinence, all your life they warn
Left with the memory, what will she do
They never tell you how to live with a child unborn

This is a tale of a child unborn
Given no name, no funeral to morn
From the womb of its mother, innocence was torn
A child left forever unborn

“Dedicated to all women who suffer this pain.”

I like this and it's sad. I don't know why she would be mad at you this is what you feel.

this poem is very touching brought silent tears to my eyes.you are very talented! you should have given it to her so many months ago! she probably would have appreciated it. to know that someone other than herself understands the hurt and and regret that she had gone through. because when this sort of stuff happens it is very sad because babies are a part of you and when they die it's like a part of oyu dies with it!!

This is an excellent write, I think she would have liked it. No one tells the mother the emptiness and pain she will feel for her unborn. This is a sad reality.

this was great the way you put this poem together.. all the thoughts i have felt having to have been a mother that had to go through this myself.. you have put all my thoughts and the motions of what i had to go through into this poem ... if you still have contact with this lady you should show it to her she will be deeply touched... fantastic write.
