Array ( [sid] => 20530 [catid] => 1 [aid] => Mick [title] => He never said it much [time] => 2003-07-16 18:05:00 [hometext] => I never understood why he said and did the things he did. And as hard as I tried, the more blinded I became by his love. All he wanted to do was make me happy... [bodytext] => He never said it much,
but I felt it when he hugged me
and wiped away his tears.
My Father had been far to proud to say he loved me.
But I saw the look of disappointment on his face when I let him down.
He only wants what is best for me...
doesn't want me to make the same mistakes he made.
He believes so highly in me
and the choices that I make in life.
I don't mean to let him down the way I do,
but I need to experience failiures, to learn the hard way.
He says he doesn't want to see his little girl get hurt,
but pain is what makes the circle of life go on.
He tried to shelter me from all the anger in the world,
but the walls had to break at one point,
and all at once they came crashing down.
He saw that I was not that six year old anymore.
He tried and he failed and that kills him even more.
And now the realization that I am growing up
has hit home at full speed,
and with time he has begun to realize that life is precious
and that he can no longer shield me from heartache and pain.

Just last night,
as my heart was breaking in two,
he kissed my cheek and lovingly whispered,
"Everything will be all right,
I love you, my little girl." [comments] => 4 [counter] => 165 [topic] => 21 [informant] => stargazer [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => Lifepoems )
