Array ( [sid] => 20522 [catid] => 1 [aid] => Mick [title] => Serenade Of Broome [time] => 2003-07-16 14:05:00 [hometext] => Broome is a tropical holiday resort in Australia...my favourite location... [bodytext] => Broometime calls, its message subtle,
Whispering nuances to thirsting minds.
Come feel my peace, my serenity,
Relax, discard all worldly cares.
Hear the song of my tranquil ocean,
Cicadas fiddling in midday sun,
And fronds that rustle on tropic palms:
My serenade of soothing sounds, calls to you from afar.

Broometime lures, colours bright and clear,
Parading images before your eyes.
Come share my sea, my pristine beaches,
The Kimberley beyond compare.
See splendid sights from my hinterland,
Grand Geikie Gorge with carved cliff faces,
The illusion of the moon’s staircase:
My serenade of wondrous beauty, lures you to my shores.

Broometime beckons, a dreamtime land,
Displaying history with obvious pride.
Come check my past, my tourist future,
A cultural blend of old and new.
Board pearling luggers now just for show,
Streeter’s Jetty where the boats once moored,
Old Sun Cinema, of iron and steel.
My serenade where time stands still, beckons to stir your soul.

Broometime tempts with themes exotic,
Enticing visitors with wondrous tales.
Come view my crocs, purchase deep-sea jewels,
Red sunsets seen from camels that lurch.
Learn about, Japanese divers, killed
In hundreds, seeking mother-of-pearl,
And fabulous diamonds, lost and found:
My serenade, I’m the town of Broome, I tempt you here to join me. Thanks for reading and commenting, Daniel. I had just returned from Broome...seven days and nights of relaxing in the sun and on the beach...and was still under its spell when I wrote this. Broome is a magical place, where time seems to stand still.

Thank you for the kind words.

Cheers, Barry.

Thank you for reading and for the comment, Jan. In writing this, I hoped to share of the wonderful imagery that makes Broome unique, and such a magic place to visit. In Broome, time seems to stand still...it's a pity about the rest of the world.

Thank you for the kind words and excellent rating.

Cheers, Barry.

I'm not sure how Broome stacks up against Trinidad, Jenni, but if my writing invoked such a desire within you, I'm gratified.

Thank you for your kind comments.

Cheers, Barry.
