At times my heart may wonders far from home,
And my mind tends to want to roam.
To a beautiful place that’s far away,
On a hot and sunny day in May.
So many years ago, that’s it’s hard to recall,
When I thought I had it all.
We first meet, and I was blown away,
With every word you had to say.
But in the road of life there came two turns,
And I felt I had my oats to burn.
So I foolishly chose the road of self,
And continued on my way to wealth.
I had all the friends that money could buy,
As long as where was a slice of pie.
Though my life was full without a moment of waste,
I still thought back to that moment of haste.
That I chose the road that let you go,
And now each day it haunts me so.
For years later, here I am all alone,
With only the fruits of what I’ve sown.
Success and money, I’ve had my share,
But heartache and loneliness fills my tears.
No love to cherish, no children to hold,
Life of happiness now that road I sold.
I wish I could go back to that sunny day in May,
There are so many things different I would like to say.
I wish I had chosen the road of we,
How different my life would have turned out to be.

A very good poem Jeff. I feel that way sometimes. I'm sure the guy you see feels this way too but maybe he had his reasons for choosing the road he chose.
luv stacey
