got travelling on my mind
I'm going to buy myself another airplane ticket
but this time
to visit the old stomping ground

tis sure to keep me in mam's good graces
and smiles on certain other faces
so I'm counting down the days and hours
sorely missed
yes, back again

wild country, Yeats country
poetry in motion
tis the place that times' forgotten
where
smelling...
the first morning dew
the peat fire burning
seeing...
the oul wan, the sighted one
across the way
hearing...
the lilting voices
I can no longer completely understand
sitting....
on my stoop
with brown bread and tea....
I will give my thanks
to all
in the heavens above
for this chance
to return once more
to the land and the people
I love
