Dirt in the kitchen
Food still on the plates
Half way wondering how this all became my new fate
Kids asleep in their beds
The morning paper on the floor that*s never been read
Thoughts of a new day
Only brings me more dread
She left without a trace
Off with a new bro
To another place
Lucky for him
She left on a whim
The dude is a boozer
A first class loser
He*s always late running in place
The only place he*s going
Is to the floor when he trips on his shoelaces
I*m off to bed
Honestly I don/'/t care if they are both dead
An old story that needs not to be said
Tomorrow starts a new day
On with my life
You bet I*ll find a new way
Don*t want no more knocks on the door
No more drunken nights on the floor
Gone like the wind
Put it to rest

Man, James, you had me chuckling along toward the end..."I doin/'/t care if they/'/re both dead" had me laughing good and loud.

Many thanks! Not to much gives me cause for laughter beyond my own sotto voce conversations.

I guess that/'/s the best thing to do, write out your frustration and move on with your life.
Clearly it is easier for others to tell you that than to do it yourself sometimes.
Seems like you are ready for a change though

everything they said and then some. Its a masterpiece in its own right its hard for me to find the words to give this poem its own place yet I shall try. the main thing its out there and you have it under control with the children all tucked I their beds with the security way from the pain of someone else that is obviously so far gone that it would take a miracle to save her from herself U are a good man for this. Huggs
, blessings emy

Holy sheep sheet, James! Not one poem this one, in June?
pump it out, pump it up! We, I, need to read your thoughts. I/'/m a little rusty on the Vulcan mind meld, so poems are the only way to get inside your head.

Anywho, if she`s off with a new bro, yuck, 🛑 you don`t want her anyway. Blah! Maybe beau?

I used to get drunken phone calls. Thanks to whoever invented caller id!!!!

I love the way this poem drips with the insults. 👍🏻 Keep it up!

Thank you,
