I struggle to brace the dam
holding back the acid lake

Eyes watering;
I struggle to brace the dam
holding back the acid lake
churning in my gut,
threatening to spill over
into my mouth.
A night of pure torment
and misery,
unable to rest my head
for more than a few seconds
at a time.

This cracked me up! I can relate for sure. That is why adjustable beds are so popular!
There/'/ a huge market share for products like Prilosec, and the over 60s generation is the target audience.
If this write is any indicator of the work you do when I can/'/t sleep --- I wish you insomnia!

I wonder what the statistics are on ulcers and the like with writers...Probably off the charts! Somehow still preferable to writers block...Oh, woe is me and my furious stomach! ;)

I always liken my body to a badly built car with some of the stupid things it does.
