She whispered in her husband’s ear.
It wasn’t very far away;
Yet there it was, as clear as day!

Two giants stepped out in uniform,
And unbelieveably;
If you had been there you’d have sworn;
They looked like you or me!

They called and waved with all their might;
I’m so ashamed -- I ran;
You must go back with me tonight;
To find them if we can!

They pointed to that little star;
Could that be where they’re from?
Imagine how advanced they are!
Oh Charles, what have I done?

For heavens sakes what nonsense;
Clarice, you had a dream;
Ill prove to you its all pretense;
And can’t be as it seemed!

Come back to bed, my sweet, instead;
Your nightmare’s safe with me.
We mustn’t tell another soul;
(They’ll throw away the key!)

We’ll speak no more tonight of this;

As for that star, my dear;
No life exists where war persists;
The Earth‘s been dead for years. [comments] => 4 [counter] => 164 [topic] => 53 [informant] => softerware [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => scifi )

Hi Soft

Again an awesome write. And yet again much more than meats the eye. What a profound message for those whom are open minded. Yes we believe in God yet there is always that question. ARE WE ALONE? As Christians we believe in God and that science is wrong. However science is sooo correct. Look at my poem The Big Bang Theory. One will always have these dreams because as humans and blessed with an inquiring mind from God we question everything all the time. So your pome can make sence to even the symple minded. We will have dreams and vision because we are open to possibilities. I to wish I could see a space ship and maybe take off with it because the human race is from time to time a disgrace.

God bless and let me know if there is one we can fly away with

Greetings
Rus

The question of life elsewhere in the universe is an interesting one. I personally believe the odds that we are the only ones are slim to none. I enjoyed this very much and the surprise ending

I think there/'/s many life forms out there. Don/'/t think if they found us they would be too impressed.
We are probably a lower life form, unable to wipe out what kills us off: disease, war, crime, etc.
But would they know love, humor and compassion?
Who knows, maybe Clarice does.
