I shun the negativity pushed my way
I close my eyes to read the words within
before my ears can hear what my mouth has to say

Arguing and fighting amongst others
something I hear and see
Not what I want to witness
as I close my eyes to set myself free

Meditation becomes a state of mind I endure
to neglect any anger trying to intrude
Silence becomes my place where I smile
disobeying that bit of anger that wants to make me act rude

I find myself in a battle
shots being fired as both sides act out of anger and rage
I hope I can remain vigilant
with hopes of silently seeing what’s on the next page

When closing my eyes
I am able to block out all senses and sound
I look within my spirit
For answers to the negativity that is so profound

My body within a relaxing state
anxiety and anger no longer what I feel or hear
The previous moments encountered
have diminished with no more need to be in fear

Finding a sense of peace within
to change the negative will of others on any day
Is something I try to do
along with controlling the mighty words I am able to say
