My quest for light in streets unknown.
I wandered so long to calm the inner beast.
To battle the balance of my soul.

I was a stranger before, never understanding the purpose.
A lost relic looking for saints in tombstone eyes.
Finding strength and unity in an unlikely sort.
While looking for god in empty roads.
Finding a peace of my own.

I found solitude being behind the scene.
Watching the play from corner lots.
Tossing my own change to those who chased it more.
Finding empty looks on morning commutes.
Disappointed heads shaking while dragging a world of chains.
Now I've settled and chastened a few of my own.
And all I found in more confusion and a broken heart.
This play, this scene, this nightmare we call reality is nothing short of genocide.

We seem to take.
We want to take it all.
Dragging more and more.
Killing more and more.
Obsession with monetary value.
Flesh holding no stock.
Life left by the road, left to follow or perish.
Forced democracy with bitter tastes of failed socialism.
Greed takes both.

In my heart body and soul I rest.
Walking for 20 years does take its toll.
Feet get tired.
Loneliness a feeling all grip with but seldom admit.
Community I seek.
To hold bonds with all, no gated mentality.
Break bread and share smiles and stories.
Warm fires on cold damp nights.
We are all but the same.
Color is meaningless when you see each other as equals.
A great and wonderful symphony.
A abstract work of art.
