Of all lives we hurt
Why didn't we care to stop
Their pain was worth it

If you’re not there do the starving weep?
Or do their tears fall mutely to the ground
Does the soil not embrace the salty rain
Without an outsiders gaze?
Does the government make laws without peoples consent
Locked in dark rooms, where the devil sleeps
Can’t you hear the cries of your dying heart
Or will it take one to rip it from your blackened chest?
Can’t we take action before you lose your voice?
Or will it take a dumb mans speech?

When will we stop to care
For all the pain we've caused
Why didn't we care to stop
The fight, just walk away…walk away

One voice can change the world…keep reminding us of that. We need to hear it in all its forms!
Thank you!

On your last line...A lesson I keep learning - that I should just shut up and go, rather than keep talking... Puts me in mind of a song by Martina McBride. "Love's the only house big enough for all the pain in the world."

Not enough have it and those that do don't have enough to make up for all the ones that don't I guess. Someday maybe. It starts with the self.

Good poem and good thoughts...
Blessings,SF
