Fingers nimble, the child branded garments weaves
Above a crescent gleams beyond the whispering leaves
A credit to fullness or a debit to the dark?
Purnima and amavasya - the human struggles to spark
No lullaby for her soft ears has her mother sung ,
wiser than old this one so young
Sold in distant lands - work for others such gold spun
Yet she has a smile that will see her through
On her forehead Siva the moon drew
She will arise despite the mercenary lies
He will with glut die like the flies

Full Beam

The moon hung at the street corner - buxom full - no sliver this looker
Perched atop a street light - this satellite aloof, no pole dancing hooker
As if to say ‘I am twice as bright - it’s Celene in the limelight’
Moonstruck mortals pause their fight to savour her delight
Above those shady deals, a witness with no squeal to reveal
Tyres hot like funeral pyres, dead of night scene to conceal
While suburbia domestic drugged with sky tv sleeps
Kerb crawl the high corporate johnnie creeps

Spiritual aspirations and noble thoughts in times of commercial and economic barbarism can be near impossible. It extinguishes the soul, dries up creativity, shuts us off to the spirit. A clever write pointing this out,,,but there is hope "She will arise despite the mercenary lies"
