Array ( [sid] => 176237 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Get Used To Yourself [time] => 2013-06-05 11:16:57 [hometext] => I quit writing poetry after writing this poem last year because of low self esteem. Haven't wrote anything since but just wanted to share this. [bodytext] => Get used to yourself...

Like you're used to others putting you down

Like you're used to putting you down

Like you're used to girls not talking to you

Like you're used to them just walking pass you and not smiling

Get used to yourself...

Like you're used to negativity

Like you're used to the bullcrap

Like you're used to low expectations

Like you're used to the color black

Like you're used to darkness

Get used to yourself...

Like you're used to being alone

Like you're used to being underestimated

Like you're used to being overlooked

Like you're used to being forgotten

Like you're used to being ignored

Like you're used to not mattering to people that matter to you

Like you're used to meaning nothing to people that mean something to you

Get used to yourself...

Like you're used to telling yourself you love yourself but think you're lying

Like you're used to people saying good things to & about you but think they're lying

Like you're used to expecting bad things to be said to & about you

Get used to yourself...

Get used to your voice...

It is as deep as your spoken word, rhymes or not

Because this poem doesn't rhyme and it hits the spot like good sex

It has strength in it that has yet to be tapped into

And it has the power to attack hearts and cause heart attacks

Get used to yourself...

Get used to your voice...

Get used to your stage...

Your stage

Your stage

No matter where you go

Your stage awaits you

And once you step on it

It is your home

Your home

Your throne

Your throne

Your stage

Your stage

Your stage

Your stage

It is your stage

And even after you step off

It is still your stage

And it will always await you

So get used to your stage...

Get used to your voice...

Get used to yourself...

Or...

Get used to not writing anymore. [comments] => 3 [counter] => 184 [topic] => 61 [informant] => Blackheart [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => selfstruggles )

I struggle with depression too so i can say I have been through that BUT I will say it doesn't matter what others think you don't have to believe them and you can be different.

Wake up and do the things you need to do for you and write for you. IF YOU NEED TO TALK PM ME.

kind of sad tho you surely know that many great writers and poets
spent years alone, inside their minds -even if not physically; some
went mad- how alone is it in that mind? so i'm going to go out on a
limb and say quit whining- to yourself- and be grateful for the solitude
because i believe in you as a poet:)

hugs n' love nessa
