to anyone who reads the poetry I write
Finding a way to make words rhyme
using correct grammar can be a terrible fight

The poems I write
usually deep with feeling and thought
I am not usually caring
about the grammar I was taught

Forgive me if my writing
is not up to standard by you
No matter how I write
my words have much meaning, this is true

I am not a professional poet
unless people like you request the poetry I write
Just remember that grammar
is not part of my insight

I hope you understand
don’t take this the wrong way
More poems by me will be written
and tomorrow will be another day

Took my poetry to my professor to correct the grammar and was told it's futile because poetry is objective. You cannot use a prescriptivist approach with an art form. So long as its still recognisable English you can write how you feel but the best poems do have good use of grammar ( in my opinion )

It's called poetic licensees and that's free with the pen.
I make up my own vocabulary. It's just what comes naturally at the time. I try to just let it flow.
KEEP UP THE FREE FLOWING.
Great write. Just be who u r.
smiles, blessings,
emy

the value in poetry is in its expression, not in a rhyme. Rhyming is just an added quirk that makes it more of a challenge.

That is definitely the beauty of writing poetry, you can do whatever you want with it! I've definitely use purposeful grammatical errors to make something to work out better. If anyone ever judges poetry by it's grammatical correctness, they are missing the entire point of that piece of writing. It's the creative freedom that makes poetry such a wonderful form of expression!

Nice write, keep it up
