[bodytext] => He comes home to this mess they call a home Leaves his heart on the doorstep and his soul is left to roam His dad walks up, hits him time after time And it’s not the physical damage that’s the biggest crime It’s shattering this kid’s confidence into tiny shards with each day The blind faith he has, as every day he does stay Even though he doesn’t have to, he could runaway He dreams of a world, far away from here A place where he could sleep without such fear It makes you sick to the stomach doesn’t it now That someone could do that to their own family, how? He wishes someone was there to talk And his lonely footsteps weren’t the only remainder of his walk The thought of suicide was always close to pulling through But he fought on, wishing for his dreams to come true He ran away one day, but was found within a week And as he was forced home he knew that this was about to peak He stood up to the man, told him he was a useless thing He told him its why mum died, to get away from him and that filthy ring He swings with all his heart, but it never connects ‘No this is all your fault’, his father corrects His old man picks up that baseball bat and swings as hard as he can And he could not get away no matter how fast he ran He was hunted and hit, even when he was knocked down it didn’t stop What was done to him is something no one should ever cop Hunted like an animal, with every intent to kill Every ounce of life was diminished, as he lost all his will Barely conscious, throat clogged with blood Questioning himself, like Noah before the flood Aren’t things supposed to get better after a while? On his shoulders lays the ruined world, in a miserable pile Self-confidence lies in pieces on the floor Because all this abuse he does endure Now his lost in between these four walls No one can hear him as he screams and calls Help is what he needs, but too afraid to ask Overcoming this pain is a hopeless task Now he lies in bed at night His starting to wonder while his still in the fight And as he bring the knife down along his arm Tracing his veins, hoping for harm He screams as the flesh opens, and the blood spurts But when every day is so painful, you get used to how it hurts And as he slowly bleeds out and nobody is there He realises that if this were his last day, nobody would care You see this kid, you judge him from his looks His face always bruised, arms cut up You would think he belongs to the crooks Little do you know his inflictions are from his dad’s hate? The only thing his living for now is this blind fate He was only 6 when his mum died It was a day, when angels cried In that fatal crash, as the truck connected And his future was grossly affected As that man they think is his dad, loads himself with drink And tells him all of what he does think He says it’s his fault she died that night He says if he were not here it would have been alright He knocks him down, puts his boot on his neck He blames him for this devastating wreck As his boot cuts in, and blood is drawn He knows he will not live till tomorrow’s dawn As his eyes black out, and he feels the blood spurt All he can think of is at least it’s an end to the hurt [comments] => 0 [counter] => 196 [topic] => 13 [informant] => damian [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => DarkPoetry )
