But I’m not alright
Inside of me rages a war, a giant fight
And I fight this fight with all my might
I watch the tide of battle shift ever so slight
The magnitude of this fight blinds my sight
It blinds me like the night so that I can’t find a light to clear my sight
To others this confrontation may seem trite
But for me it is an enigmatic blight
In spite of my right to live and fight
It shuts me down, a cage cutting off my flight
Like being knocked from the height, from the lofty light
My mental state closes about me tight, puts me to a fright
The plight is quite a sight, caught no matter how hard I fight
The sun, though giving light is never a source of might
For it is far too bright
Too bright a light for me and the blight
The darkness hinders me as much as the light
Like I stated before, this is a losing war despite
Despite the might of the words I write
I can’t seem to fight without an effective light
A light that won’t blind my sight yet hurt the blight
I will keep up this fight, in spite of the fact that I’m not alright
Suicidal urges are against what I fight
But I’m losing, losing ever so slight
Soon it won’t be slight and it will change wrong to right
Wonder if it will overtake me in the night
Or will the light enlighten me and give me might to fight the blight

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
