I know I am a sinner.

I have done
Many a heinous deed.

I have laughed
In a dying man's face
As he pleaded for mercy.

I...knew no mercy.

But I have a home now.
A kind and loving spouse,
A little one to watch over.

How can my bloody hands hold them
Without the slickness
Causing them to slip out of my hands?

I don't want this!

I don't want these hands to touch them,
I don't want my little one
To know
What a sinner his parent is!

That's why I must go.
I can't face them anymore,
Not anymore.

So goodbye,
My precious family.
Because I will never,
Not for as long as I live,
Ever let you see me again. [comments] => 4 [counter] => 213 [topic] => 13 [informant] => Ensis718 [notes] => Changed category from miscellaneous to dark due to content. Sounds like a true life confession to me. If so, be the parent your child would look up to in any circumstance and do the "right" thing but never, ever leave your child wondering why you are not there because their first impression will be that you don't love him/her.... if your spouse truly loves you, it will be understood. If this is truly just a poem - kudos to you!

you made the very first important hard step , as hard as it was. Don't leave your family , get help and lean on your family, have faith.Good luck!

Whether your a fellow veteran holding the wages of war or someone with a past of crime, either way, if you have done bad, your hands can be cleaned. You have actually started a process of washing your hands of blood by writing the thoughts that are boggling your mind. Leaving your family is not the answer and it is not of any strength that is known! Your family will understand you and love you and your family really needs you so.

Hang in there!

Wayne
