navigate this maze while keeping out of sight
all of your values are needed to face this plight
be swift, my brave and noble knight

make yourself scarce, or you may disappear
creeping down this passage, you sense the end is near
pay no attention to spells which may reach your ear
you're soon to battle forces all other warriors fear

thus far, you have encountered many foes
you have witnessed how their fresh blood flows
a secret lust in you festers as it grows
like a wildfire that never slows

until now, on your noble and righteous quest
every enemy you met, you easily did best
you simply cut right through them, as they simply failed your test
pray that those in your future will perish like the rest

now you approach nearer to the ancient serpent's lair
a foreboding place where no other knight will dare
my dear sir, please do take great care
or they shall feast upon you, until your bones are bare

you see an opening far off in the distance
to the place where you expect to receive penance
for you do mean to make resue of innocense
and to have sin of your soul be cleanly rinsed

from deeds of darkness of your yesterday
just have all abolished, and all of them washed away
so that henceforth, scolars and teachers may only say
words of honor and valor, and of tribute to you pay

leaping outright onto the battleground
seeing that the wounded mare has been roguely bound
they have silenced her, silenced her beautiful sound
you now gather your strength, and you use the courage found

as bolts cast light onto this deadly stage
and the adversary is whipped into a frightening rage
while this history is written onto page by bloody page
you unleash your power like a lion from a cage

as your mighty sword strikes hard the solid earth
creating a vast canyon of truly monumental girth
to swallow your found enemy of evil birth
showing the dark army your unquestionable hero's worth

suddenly, the great columns that line the great hall
topple over and into this new abyss do fall
burying the vanquished, and whatever else does crawl
until the buriel mound is nearly twenty cubits tall

this is the end of this amazing tale
a telling of how evil did fail
and of how good will always prevail
until next time, may your ships of fortune sail... [comments] => 1 [counter] => 117 [topic] => 13 [informant] => hray42 [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 0 [associated] => [topicname] => DarkPoetry )

an adventure to be sure; going to be flatout honest here,
if the 'you' and 'yours' were taken away also some 'ands'
strictly the knight being written about i feel it would be a much stronger poem,

hugs n' love nessa
