once upon a time
was the happiness well of love
but all the people climbed within'
and emptied it of unending love,

this lonely well dwelled in the forest
where songbirds sung and crickets danced
wishing wistfully to itself-
"if only i could have one more chance,"

a blue lizard looked within,' moved along,
no visitors today, nor in many past years
no one wants to learn of a happy tale-
turned sad song, that no one wants to hear,

then along came a child
so sweetly pure and innocent
one day she asked,"why is it this way?"
cannot love to us be again sent?

alas no more powder of magic
it was long begone
"there must be a way" she said
"to make love again shared and strong,"

the quest then began
people searched far and wide,
all over the world
each and every countryside,

they sang the well's tale:

"once upon a time
there was the happiness well
where all of the love in the world
did happily dwell..."

all the magical creatures
taking pity, had a meeting one night
and who should arrive?
the flaming phoenix in flight,

she cried her healing tears
this beautiful graceful bird
and flew over the lonely well
until the people all heard;

the distant thunder as it cracked
as love to the world was returned
eternal sip now for everyone to share;
as within' thundering ashes the phoenix burned,

the sun returned, as well did love
now the phoenix, she was smiling
a lone feather floated to the child, from gentlest dove
her pretty feather was so new and shining.
