[hometext] => This poem's "Speaker" is a female talking to female readers, but anyone can interpret it in their own way. :D I wrote it for my creative writing class. Yes, it is a sestina.
[bodytext] => An unsheathed swordsman who can never miss for his talent all others use as an example. He claims his conquests as nothing more than property sadly so sadly in these items I find myself; though I am not something you can buy nor will my heart in this pain stay. Even though he hurts me with such skill and precision, I stay. Should he leave his presence is what I begin to miss. For his time is not something one can buy. Use this story I tell as your first example, don’t let happen to you what had happened to myself. For child, you know you’re meant to be more than his property. If anything, you should make him your property; make him break his habits and pray that he’ll stay. You worry about yourself and I will go on by myself. Set out with a sword that can never miss. Soon enough you’ll follow my example, and my written story you can buy. Three items I tell you, you’ll need to buy, make sure they reside on your property. We must make of him a permanent example, lest he know we plan to make him stay. Make us be the one’s he can’t help but miss. One kiss, and one touch all led by myself. I shall pick out the time and place by myself; you shall go to the store and buy what you need to buy. Should one thing disappear this plan is sure to miss. We shall, we shall make him our property, not force him in any way, but make him want to stay. Let all others follow our example. Heed forth young maidens this is our example! The ones you see before you are Me, I and Myself. The one I talk about is the one who can never stay. He isn’t someone you can buy, nor is he someone’s property, but he is someone my heart will surly miss. Please listen to my example, love isn’t something you buy. I promised not to let myself become anyone’s property. Although my heart in pain won't stay; there’s someone it will dearly miss. I choose to move on with my life, and hope that I find bliss.
