I could not fight the way I felt
Love lingered and boiled inside of me
Unfair was the passion I had been dealt
Every waking moment was haunted
With this unsatisfiable desire
I loved him in all ways possible
He was the fuel for my fire
Any little way I could speak to him
Was taken and used without a thought
Never was those few moments enough
In the end only more pain was brought
Every chance he reminded me
There was no comparison to him
But like a picture in a museum
From any taking, my heart was banned
The want became more painful
Each and every day
The battle became to much
Tears that once could be soothed away quickly
Came rapidly now with every thought
Never would he know the passion
He did not believe this young girls love
I watched him fade away slowly
That was the final push and shove
I did not kill myself that night
Though I would not say I truly lived
I try to run away from reminders
Of the love I would never get
I knew I was never good enough
Not strong enough, not brave
And though I tried with all of my heart
The relationship I could not save
He holds on to my mistakes
I tried to make amends
But like everything else in my life
In sadness and me left broken

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
