Said the voice of a husky musky bear.
‘Well its all because they neglected the world!’
Said the voice of a snake as he slowly unfurled.

‘Well,’ said the elephant adopting a very thoughtful pose,
Increasingly cross eyed as specs slipped down his nose.
‘Well what? said the monkey jumping from tree to tree,
Then swooping down to land on the elephants knee.

‘Well when we were rare our lack of numbers were linked,
They put us in zoos to save us all from becoming extinct!’
‘Good idea,’ said the crocodile, as he lazily basked in the sun.
We can put them behind bars sounds like my kind of fun!

Build an enclosure to help these poor creatures.
With lots to climb on and various water features!

We could have feeding times, could throw them fish.
Get them to do tricks to earn their next meal or dish.
They could jump through hoops balance a ball on their nose,
We could shout and scream while they are having a doze.

We could put them together see how they get on!
They could entertain us with a dance or a song.
Think of how they will thank us for shutting them in,
How they will shout and pout cause a terrible din!

‘I have an idea!’ said the camel adjusting his sandal.
We could make them so tame and easy to handle.
We can pet them and vet them and pat their heads,
And pile high the straw to make them some beds.

Unanimous were the tigers the lions and the cheetahs,
All with great ideas for the new zoos latest features!
Every creature raised his flippers, his hooves ,and his paws.
To show their excitement with tremendous applause!

Roll up roll up and come see what is new!
Its our all singing, all dancing Human Zoo!

This poem is great, I like the pace,
It really put a smile on my face!
And what you have written is so very true:
We'll see who really ends up in the zoo!
Human should really get a full taste
Of the terror they've done to the animal race.
(five stars for your poem!)

an entertaining piece of writing, reminds me of the old poem, 'what do monkeys think of evolution,' Could use a thoughtful retweak just to tighten up a few lines. It is a great story however, and a fun read. Rather well penned. tfs
