In red silk dress, I made my way to the crowd to be among
Couples hand in hand gathering for the last dance to be done
I stepped back; I tried to move from the sight not to run

I swiftly turned around and there I saw you in a distant
Your eyes were at me and I felt a spellbound for an instant
You came close to me; I hold my breath to make me right
I open my lips to say, you put your finger to make me quite

You hold my hand; bring me close, we were face to face
I was close tight to you and my heart was on a race
With the music we were in tempo as we move with pace
It felt like my whole world in your arms, my only one place

He is my first sight first love that’s what I believed
I put my head on his shoulder closing eyes there I dreamed
Never leave me, in your arms I would love to die
The music stopped I hold myself and looked in his eyes

He kissed my hand and starts to walk away from my sight
As I watched him stride away in that cold winter night
He then disappeared from my vision from where I stand
He left me with tears and walked away with my heart in his hand [comments] => 5 [counter] => 271 [topic] => 22 [informant] => ANbarean [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 10 [ratings] => 2 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => LostLove )

Ouch. Your've really written the hurt into this. That last stanza
is positively excruciating. Hopefully this was cathartic for you.

Great post~

Your poem has fine imagery. And I really like the way you've structured it.
