grey tears run down my face as i search my mind for the colour of love

to find only bottomless voids of despair and emptiness

i search my empty soul for shards of light in my dark existence

only to find scares of past pain and hope .

But as i look up i find these grey tears dry in an instant and i feel a tingle in my heart

as i close my eyes and think of the pain and hurt i have survived

i feel strong i feel hope i awake from this daze of self destruction

i open my eyes and see colour for the first time a brilliant red surrounds my feet

i smile as i look down see life's love flowing from my wrists

freedom is finally mine as i fade into the darkness of evil and sadness forever

when you visit this place i will be the shards of light that steer you away from the same fate. A very powerful write. I don't suffer from shards but from depression...I also have arthritis amonst other issues. I too know the feeling of dispair.

Mental issues can be and to some, are very difficult to live with. I have friends who feel the same way. This makes me wonder what you'll write next. Keep this up and who knows, it might get you somewhere.
