Array ( [sid] => 163322 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Mother Nature. Father Progress. [time] => 2010-11-19 05:10:28 [hometext] => Just a thought. I understand mother nature going about her business, in this case taking a tree in a storm. What I can't get to grips with is man felling the trees in the name of progress. [bodytext] => It lays on it's side
No more words of wisdom are cried,
The tree,
It's branches limping silently,
Says not one word,
It's been a while now since even a whisper was heard.
For one cold blustery night,
It's ancient roots gave up the fight,
With the will to live forsaken,
One more tree by our mother earth is taken.

Now a mere year further on
And every tree that once stood here is gone,
For man's lust for progress proudly shows
In this place that was frequented by pigeons and crows,
Devoid now of large thrusting trees
That once swayed and hummed to the tune of the breeze.
Now just land that is set aside
Left to the mercy of man's greedy pride.
And I pray one day this arrogance will die
And once again the trees rise up and grace the sky.

What a fantastic write that highlights the ever growing greed. It truly is sad how the people in charge who are supposed to nurture what we have rip down whatever they please for a new car dealership etc.
Awesome imagery with a sharp point. Well done my friend.

This left me with a couple ears.
I love my tree's and nature.
Yes I agree it is terrible to see our natural beauty leaving us.

People will have a rude awakening.

Lovely flowing poem.

Hugs
Michelle
