[title] => The Iraqi Child
[time] => 2003-04-20 09:35:00
[hometext] => In this poem I have tried to portray the feelings of an Iraqi child bogged down by years of punitive sanctions and now ravaged by this war.Life has been a great hell for him.
[bodytext] => The child peeped at the outside world,
all destroyed,rotten and cold. The pain has washed away his grief, leaving him broken and handicapped, like an unwanted,wrinkled leaf. Since birth, life has been one great hell, worse than a dried,ugly decomposed well. Some "infidels" had imposed , some crippling sanctions, food is now only available in "fractions". His little sister died;before his very eyes, those humanitarian,publicized aids, all a rigmarole of cowardly lies. Now this war;bringing death in it's sway, all to remove one man;out of the way. Those smart bombs;those streaks of light, pummelling houses ever so bare, life has become a living nightmare. The child looked up and prayed, O God! help to the best of your ability, take me with you;away from this life, a torturous,unbearable liability.
