She holds the blade in her hands
The only friend that understands

That digs deep enough to feel her pain
That she can turn to over again

Her secret is safe with this new found friend
It won’t let her down right to the end

Always there when she is in need
To help her remember she has feelings indeed

She knows exactly what each cut was for
Each one is deeper than the one before

Each time her heart hurts and no ones around
She confides in her friend without making a sound

The end

The implied savagery here, I can't help but feel it's somehow juxtaposed with some sort of innocence. Very interesting little poem.

A great poem for highlighting the relationship between the cutter and the weapon of choice - haven't read a self harm poem so intimate. great insight.

I wouldn't call something awesome that is only repeating typical teenage "sorrow". This is a serious subject, and I simply can't stand this my- blade- my- friend- NONSENSE! If, dear quadira, you and "she" are the same person, go and get help. That is no offense, but advice. And if not, stop to pretend you know anything. You don't.
