Array ( [sid] => 160752 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => 30 Over [time] => 2010-06-24 00:01:13 [hometext] => You do stupid things when you're young. [bodytext] => 30 over you were under 20
hair done up with pink confetti
my buddies they were placing bets see,
they took you as any easy mark
It's not right, the words we spoke
behind your back it was just a joke
motivated by beers and illegal smoke
I guess it wasn't right
but if you take me back
I'll explain it all tonight

30 over you were about 18
I was two years older, you were mad at me
I kind of like it when you said that I was mean
I was used to being the pushover type
Converse shoes kissing against your belt
You were nervous, I could tell just how you felt
And I was an *****, you were never with anyone else
I muttered under my breath "I'm sorry"
as you whispered to me you loved me
but if you take me back
I'll never let it happen again

30 over we got pulled over
Sorry just trying to get my girl home sir
Your last laugh I heard lingers in my car
every time I'm caught crying underneath the stars
Maybe I was just a boy
Maybe you were just a kid
Maybe it was all worth it
Maybe I hate what I did
but if you take me back
I swear I'll fix it

LOVE this one! I think too many folks create poetry meant for the masses and are too afraid to get personal. "Getting personal," to me, is what poetry is all about. Love the flow of this as well.
