Bless this tepid scarecrow. A hummingbird

through its head had slipped the hands of sky
pirates. It wasn't even magpies--who knows
what populates the skies.

I always enjoy your poetry. I find it intriguing & moving & this particular one is no exception.
The significance is veiled & the intensity is evident but the overall effect is awe. Well done. elle :)
