Blond, elegant, an hourglass body and a face of European nobility
We are flirting
But my arm is over her shoulders
And we are having a good time
Laughing
She is out of my league
She likes a mans man
Someone who doesn’t talk about their feelings
Or write poetry
Someone who can take control, dominate, protect
And im just not him
I can joke, talk, reassure
So im not even on the ballot
But it helps
The tension is gone
Im a novice so im not even thinking of taking the expert route
So I can just be me
And do whatever the hell I please
***** I can be he biggest fool I want with no apprehension of the possible consequences
And we are best friends, I wouldn’t want it any other way
Just companions compadres comrades
But my arm is around her
And she is giggling
So in the back of my mind I ask is she really out of my league

I went with her to a country dance club
Pail skin dark eyes long legs
Her lips wrapped around a camel menthol
Bangs draped symmetrically half an inch above her brow
Hair up in a bun pink denim short-shorts
A torn t-shirt that reads wasted youth
Shes flirting with me
I know its all in fun
Because she is out of my league
I mean out of the and through the windshield of a car in the parking lot out of my league
I mean hemmingways depiction of an old man versus a thousand pound marlin
I mean feather weight versus heavyweight
I mean im a paraplegic with upper body strength and she is 1500 vertical ft. of pure granite
But it helps
The tension is gone
Im a novice so im not even thinking of taking the expert route
So I can just be me
And do whatever the hell I please
I can be he biggest fool I want with no apprehension of the possible consequences
But she is flirting with me
I know its all friendly
But in the back of my mind I ask is she out of my league?
The moral of the story is
No matter how I hard I think
No matter how hard I try
I still don’t think anyone is out of my league, even if I am just a regular guy

I love the thought process in this poem, the figuring it all out what you have to gain what you have to lose, the freedom to be who you are and great conclusion this really made me smile well written
