[hometext] => Happy Mother's Day!
[bodytext] => It takes a lifetime to build the memories and with the rate of a high tide approaching, the sandcastles crumble into mud and the sun dries the beaches. And tomorrow morning, another youthful year long day will fill the coast with castles and buckets and sand. As Mom and Dad watch with hopes as blue as the sea. I drew a chessboard in the sand. I used my heels against my hands. 30 squares to place a man. The Army came of 15 men with 15 plans, "Protect the king!" The rooks demand. The bishops preach to all the land. "The King must stand! So here he stands!" The Knights are still and silent, skilled and violent: The strongest pawns, returned from war. Castles climbing up and down. Bishops gliding in between. Narrow men defend this crown. The Knights alone, born of the Queen. To quote Longfellow "Everything in its place best" I thank my mother and the game of chess.
