I CAN DECIDE

I woke up early today, enthusiastic
as always.........
Many plans run through my head,
even on Sundays.
I get to decide what this day will
be........
You get to decide too,

I can complain about rainy weather
or,
Rain is great, it's free. will make my
lawn better!
Some days I feel sad for the lack of money
or,
Glad that my meager finances guide me
to pinch pennies, waste not closely.

I can grumble when my health slumps
or,
Be very happy that my heart still pumps!
On this day I may complain about
doing the dishes
or,
Be happy I had something to eat
a full tummy pleases.

Lament over my past and be forlorn,
or,
Just feel thankful my parents allowed
me to be born.
Housework is endless, no relief,
or,
Homeless, without a pillow for my head
means real grief!

When I have to go to work, I could
whine.......
or,
Be so thankful I have a job to go to
a true lifeline.
I can murmur about things I wish I had
or,
Count my blessings and appreciate
not be sad.

I get to shape this whole day.......,
sculpture it without a sigh.
Positive thoughts I apply.
Negative thoughts I deny.

What a beautiful message. We should always think of the positive things in our life, and be grateful for what we have. A truly beautiful, well written poem.

Absolutely correct. I think we... or at least I, need this gentle reminder to be thankful for what I have. Beautifully penned Consue. Thank you for bringing a smile to this ol' face. Smile!

Great writ, mom.
I use to be very negative but some how I realized
It was my way of thinking. After a while it grows on you and makes a person more pleasant to be around.
You've wrote this in such a way that the most negative person the planet to understand.
good work.
huggs, blessings, luv,
yobrat
