emerald blood flowing in their veins,
sun-shined leaves glowing with energy,
a blemished leaf is often shunned;
the blemish begins as a tiny hole
then its life is eaten away
little by little each day.
Until...
a leaf's skeleton is displayed;
it clings to its branch for its final role.
Most of its life has died away.
And yet...
there is something enigmatic about the decayed leaf--
Its lace
Eyes gaze through its fancy frame
and view the world through a magic lens.
The sky looks a little more blue;
it's magic what nature's lace can do.
Zooming in on beauty
magnifying the small
The skeletal leaf frames all.

An allegory on life itself,
which in the realm of eternity,
is but a vapor! Masterfully composed!
Blessings,
Rob

There is a sad beauty in this. I loved seeing the colors of fall.

Also while it is not at all like it, it remined me of this very old song I used to love when I was a child called "The Last Leaf". Thank you for instilling memories.

Oh, and I like both versions of your poem.

Once again, thank you for another enjoyable read or should I say reads.

Tim
