FOR ONCE I WAKE AND THE POSITIVITY OF THOUGHT CONSUMES ME.
MY BODY IS FULL OF WARMTH AND LIGHT AND I STARE THROGH THE WINDOW.
LIFE FEELS GOOD AND I EVEN LAUGH AT THE CAT IN THE TREE
BUT THIS IS NOT A CHESHIRE AND THE SMILE IS A FURROW.

I FELT SOMEWHAT DISTURBED AS I STARED AT THIS FELINE
FOR ITS GLANCE IN MY DIRECTION TURNED INTO A STARE
IT SPRANG AND JUMPED ONTO THE WASHING LINE
AND THE EXPRESION HAD ESCALATED INTO A GLARE.

THEN THINGS GOT STRANGE AND THE TEAPOT CAME IN.
ACCOMPANIED BY A MAN WITH A RATHER BIZARRE HAT.
THE ONLY THING MISSING WAS A GIRL SMALL AND THIN
BUT SHE WAS REPLACED WITH THE ENTRANCE OF THE CAT.

NO-ONE HAD SPOKEN YET I WAS COMPLETELY ASSURED
BUT THE RABBIT THAT FOLLOWED CAME WITH THE GIRL
SHE OFFERED ME A BOTTLE SAYING I’D BE CURED
SO I DRANK THE CONTENTS AND FELT MY HEAD SWIRL.

WHEN I AWOKE I WAS SURROUNDED BY FRIENDS
I FELT RATHER WEAK, TIRED AND FLACCID
MY BUDDIES WERE LAUGHING AND MAKING AMENDS
THE MORAL: NEVER EVER TAKE CHEAP ESTATE ACID.

"One pill makes you larger And one pill makes you small" ..... quite the excursion down the rabbit hole, this was. :p A university trip indeed!! What a colourful write this was. Very fun.
