my soul was in pain
you didn't care
so i shut it all out
closed my eyes
watched it go black
and you kept pushing
making brutal explosions
inside my head
attacking my mind
i try to fight the tears
can't let you see
but a smirk plays on your mouth
as you look into my eyes
look into my anguish
shut it out, shut it out
make my heart cold
pretend not to notice
when i'm forced to the edge
now i'm finally numb
i can walk away
free from your cage
but where is my heart?
guess i didn't win
the fire rages in this hell
but the ice remains
and i feel no pain, no gain
my soul in chains
cause being numb took it's toll

How well you describe a very common experience, particularly for women. It has openned my mind to an attitude I've detected in all too many.
Thank you so much for showing me "the view from the other side of the fence.........................................."

Guilty male now does sly coverup and slinks away.........................
