To know the game
Yet never change
To respond only when the streets call your name
A craving for the lights
A fiend for the fame
And everyone calling your name
Yet you never change

People are still hoping
Steady voting
Just because its a good notion
Even though half their city is still under the ocean
Their dreams floatin with promises of a better morrow
Of streets no longer filled with sorrow
Yet it never changes

To fight for a new life
Only speaking one language
No comprehension of English
Laboring till your bones itch
Knowing la familia deserves it
So you wont change

But isn't that wha was promised to us
change
Its been nearly 12 months
And governments still corrupt
Foreign nations threaten to bomb us
Our own defenders preparing to harm us
Yet you still preach change

My friend time is not the enemy
Its just an enigma
Another chain to enslave us
Even deprave us
Of the ownership of our sanity
In which we fight for so valiantly
Just to maintain our memories
Even though it cant change

So many things in this world
Many of which we cant change
But to be A King Of Oneself
Is the most valiant notion we can strive for
And make change.... [comments] => 0 [counter] => 151 [topic] => 19 [informant] => Infinite [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => InspirationalPoems )

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
