[bodytext] => Staring past the fenceposts, grass blowing in the wind Remembering the feel of dirt, of earth upon my skin. Hearing birds wings flapping as they fly from tree to tree, A freedom I vaguely remember, but was that ever me? Climbing to the rafters, staring at the sky Will I ever climb a tree, will I get to try? Sitting in this plastic tub, playing with a ball, Remembering the streams in which I used to run and fall. Then comes in a human, away again I flee, Yet as he leaves I smell a treat, fish and fruit for me! Perhaps there are some reasons, in this pen to stay, Peanutbutter, toys, playmates are what I have today. And yet as I lay sleeping, my eyes so tightly closed, The smells of freedom tease me, tickling my nose. I'll curl up tightly, dreaming, that someday I may be A bear that is happily sleeping, underneath a tree.
