If I told you I loved you and waited for your reply
Would I see it in the twinkle of your eye?
Would it come in that soft content sigh?
Or would you doubt me and question as to why?

If I told you I loved you and waited for your reply
Would you have it written in letters in the sky?
Would you tell me that this makes your heart fly?
Or would you turn and say good-bye?

Oh, my .. a dangerous, DANGEROUS question this is. We are so
vulnerable when it comes to this complex emotion. I actually felt
anxious just reading this. But living with the question, unanswered
... well, it can make a person do impetuous things, no?

Great post dw!

Yes I am with Rox on this one, that question, you wrote such a beautiful poem about a complex reality. Anticipation at its finest.

These very questions are often in my mind and can induce fear when it comes to expressing how I feel. Very nice poem. Excellent work! :o)

My friend is going through the same problem with a girl he loves, He says he loves her but she's not ready to tell him, but she has reasons...everyone does..I can't tell you what I think about your situation, or give advice where it's not my business to give..but I do hope the best for you
great poem, troubling question
