[hometext] => This is done for a contest, and the idea was to write a poem using the theme of “omission.” We were required to use the words “trickling,” “throughout,” “eyelid,” and “salt.” Also, we were not allowed to use the words “the” or “what.” Enjoy!
[bodytext] => Without a final kiss. Without a last goodbye. Without a reassuring hug, To tell me not to cry. Tears trickling down my cheeks, Tell that this is not a dream. For truly you have left, And there’s nothing’s left, it seems. Throughout my life I’ll mourn, Through sleepless nights I’ll weep. For living without you, Robs my nights of sleep. My eyelid never closes. Tears of salt trail down my face. By now they’ve left a track, That my liquid sorrow’s traced. I know I should move on, But that can never be, For how could I enjoy a life, Void of you with me?
